Brown Bear at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Preserve. It was a lazy October Sunday afternoon for him/her. In between doing nothing and slacking off... Ol' Brown Eyes and I exchanged glances. I'm glad he/she was on the right side of the fence.

Great shot! I seriously thought you were out in the open without fences for this one! =D

Thanks!

Luckily , the bear and I were on equal terms that neither of us had to work to hard for me to get those shots  There's many animals at the preserve... caribou, bears, elk, moose, bison, musk ox, etc. I don't want to fool the viewer that I was out in the wild shooting these animals, but at the same time, I don't want the fences in my shots. That's why I don't have any other pics from that day posted.

Gotchya!, I would just love to shoot all those animals! =D
It's very convincing Chad! I love the fact that it looks like
you shot it in the wild though!, very cool!=) :ahoy:

Thanks so much... I have a few more of this bear that I've been thinking about posting, but they are pretty much all the same. The preserve on occasion will throw a moose or caribou carcass in the pen with them... they are not so calm and sweet then. :hungry: :eyepopping:
:iconseptsky:
 I bet they aren't! Would love to see something like that...I like the rare and unseen! :D

Beautiful! Where is this conservation preserve located? I'm going to anchorage for three days in June, and would love to see these guys:D

Hi Lindsay, sorry it took so long to reply... This shot is near Portage (about an hour and a half south of Anchorage) at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. The bears love to get their photos taken, plus... there's a whole bunch of other animals there too... and it's in a wildlife setting, so it's a great place to go take pics. The other shot you commented on was near there too... You and Who's Army - Yes, I'm a big Radiohead fan too. There's a road near the conservation Center that will take you to Portage Glacier and Whittier... stop along that road at one of the many pull-outs and you should see bald eagles galore. I see you've been talking to one of my bestest buddies :iconfreddyfivemiles: so if you're looking to get off the beaten path while in AK, let us know... we can put you in the right direction! Have fun on your trip!

Hey hey, it's all good:) Oh so the conservation center is south of anchorage, I was thinking it was east for some reason. Maybe we will go there one day. We are probably staying in downtown anchorage the whole time, and on the 11th I think we are going to the matanuska glacier, and the rest of the time is just up in the air right now so we'll see. I def wanna see lots of bald eagles tho:D Thanks, and I'll let ya know if I can think of anything else to ask. What's the temp right now? We are coming a week from today woohoo!:D
